Automatic Test Systems

 

EJC Systems has been supporting Honeywell International and Northrop Grumman with automatic test stations for B-2 Stealth Bomber avionics equipment. The CIDS-STE (Central Instrument Display System – Special Test Equipment) plays an important role for the program in performing unit burn-in testing, acceptance testing and support of various qualifications tests.

 

  

 

Key characteristics and interfaces of this test system include:

  • Discrete inputs & outputs

  • Precision thermocouple simulation

  • Programmable AC & DC power supplies

  • Full system self-test

  • Software based calibration

The highly modular test system software has been developed in LabView. A menu-driven user interface provides access to all of the system testing functions. Selection of test script files offers flexible testing capabilities. In addition to fully automated testing, a full compliment of manual functions are provided for use during development and troubleshooting. Test results are recorded in disk files and may be printed as fully formatted MS Word documents.

System cost has been minimized through significant use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment. The system uses an industrial PC with various standard interface and data acquisition boards. A National Instruments PXI rack provides additional interface, control and switching functions. Custom interface circuits and interconnection of the COTS I/O is accomplished in a custom UUT interface drawer.

Significant accomplishments of the CIDS-STE design have been relatively low cost, rapid development, excellent design flexibility and good system maintainability.

 

 


 

Fully automated Burn-In system monitors and tests electronics modules to be used in satellite equipment.  

 


 

Automatic Test System - PC based test station programmed using LabView, performs extensive test and measurement functions. Contains signal conditioning and data acquisition for test item voltages, currents, waveshapes, pressures, temperatures, and flow. Controls thermal chamber to automate thermal cycling, burn-in, and acceptance tests. Test system is used in testing electronics modules and valves used on the International Space Station (ISS).
 



 

Manufacturing Test Station - Panel PC based test stand performs final assembly tests on industrial paint sprayers using custom LabView program.
